Lomba Debat Teknik 2010

It's been about two weeks since i've finished my obligation as Project Officer of Engineering Debating Competition. My motivation why I take part here because it is one of my memorable moment when I was in orientation two years ago. Where, despite the name sounded 'serious' it is the craziest part of orientation, i think. The yel-yel moment, the motion, the adjudicator, everything. hehe. Besides the feelings inside the debating moment, with wonderful supporter from our sides or opponent. it is cant be described. Anyway, for some reasons, the competition is being banned last year. I can't wait to see it again, and well, there is me try to take part to make it happen this year.

LDT 2010 itself is the moment for every department in FTUI to show off their solidarity, critical mind and team work. That's also the reason all department really serious and enthusiast and, well the committee also have to be that way too. How all of the new students take part here is : First, we send the invitation to all department so they will do internal debating competition to select the best delegation. Then, in faculty scale, the delegation will meet other department, and non delegation will take the unforgettable moment to watch the matter that we tried to share from update motion then yel-yel till drop at the allowed time.

Glad that it is over and hope the real essential of this competition : interaction, is fulfilled. By here, I thank all people that already helped a lot in make this happened. Especially, my SUPER TEAM that has been soooo 'take a breath' wonderful. Hehe, you guys have a consolidation to have, soon! ;)

This is some picture of the supporter. Can you see and feel the spirit in the air? ;)
Too bad due to size I can't upload all of department. If you want to know, from mechanical engineering is all favorite supporter though. =)

Sailor Ranger in PPIC GAME 2010

One of my study in industrial engineering is PPIC (Production Plan Inventory Control). We learn how to control finished good inventory to satisfied sales division, control raw material inventory to satisfied production division, also not too much to save the inventory cost but still have to fulfill all of the customer demand. We find out that in many case, save inventory cost also will enhance the profit as much as have a higher number of sales. So, PPIC is important in a company. PPIC is a push system, whereas there is Kanban as pull system that we will learn next year. Both in a GAME.

It is pretty interesting to learn PPIC in a game, but the game is not easy in fact. It is kinda a car manufacture simulation. We have to count, forecast, simulate, learn document flow and many other, just as if it is real. And, oh, don't forget those excel counting things such as MRP, MPS, etc. But, at least we still could have fun and the game will make us never forget the knowledge. Competition raise our desire to win and learn more. Implement strategy, working in a team. I guess we gain a lot here. If you want to find out more about PPIC, you may go to here www.ppicgame.com . Industrial Engineering of University of Indonesia also held PPIC Game for company, basically is the same just different at who join the game, hehe.

It is  great to work in team with my SAILOR RANGER anyway. Proud to work with them, and they make all the effort worth to fight for. Here they are, Ricky as PPIC, Me as Sales & Purchasing, Irvany as GBJ, Echa, Fadhil and Fitri Yulianti as GBB. Alex, Rizal, Friska as Work Station also Fitri Farid and Ayu Wulandari as Supllier. Pretty much a system, right? Next year we will be a PPIC Coach and Adjudicator. Watch and See!

Hmm, there is still a long way to go in my campus life. Hope everyone can reach what we've dreamed of.

Introduction to Campus Life

As new student, we get a lot of assignment in order to introduce and help us adapt to campus life.
One of them is singing at the balairung with white uniform for the graduate senior to remind us that we gonna be like them someday, or PPAM - Engineering Faculty New Student Orientation that successfully help us to know each other in the batch or the simulation of how cruel is the assignment. I will not tell how I've been fooled, hoho.
First Time with Yellow Jacket :')
Anyway, to make it interesting there is some competition. There is Yel-Yel competition in engineering faculty, the spirit is so bold in the air. unfortunately, industrial engineering lost. But still, I am so in to the spirit of yel-yel that time. There's funny story here, that always keep us smile if we rewind here. Just untold.
Yel-Yel Competition

Also, super glad my essay is being top 50 from around 4000 student that submit the essay at OKKUI, the theme is Indonesia and the contribution to our country in celebration of 100 years of Kebangkitan Nasional. The collection of the essay is made as a book.

50 Winner of OKK UI Book
I am take part in debating competition, as one of six representative from undustrial engineering. The team being runner up champion, and I will not forget how is the feeling to be in the engineering competition. I cant tell, it is scary for new student for me, but also dazzling. And full support from the batch really high up the spirit. The coach even more helpfull. Still remember how is the feeling to lost at the final. It is like, so ugh. But, at last I am grateful to take part. Even I enjoy being the supporter when not in the competition.
Debating Competition 2008 :')
Yeah, and finally after the orientation is done. I enter the university life.

High School Never Ends

When I entering my high school lives, there is Discipline High School Orientation for a month in military style. I can not even think to home sick, and finally I can adapt well with the new environment.

What I remember the most is when new student have to crawl in dirty wet rice field, but with the essential we have to remember it is what farmers do to grows the rice, so we must not spoiled any food in respect to God, farmers, parents, and the cook.

The routine start from 4.30 in the morning, and ends after we finish the study at the latest 23.00. Being in the dormitory life, is hard but so stable. Morning jogging, Senam, Self Defense then we have to in ready uniform at 6.30 for breakfast in a rules too. We have to braze the gesper and shines the boot everyday if you dont want to get push-up punishment in three times a day small ceremony (apel). We can say it is semi-military style. Just imagine, My headmaster is Brigadir General, vice Headmaster is Colonel of from navy. Head of Dormitory is Major of Police.

I met a lot of super smart friends and senior. I learn a lot from them. Being in dormitory lives teach you a lot how to be independence and tolerance with others. Especially when the environment is so rich with Indonesian culture. Five religion, difference culture from medan, pontianak, bali, makasar to papua, I am from homogen culture to high school life like, have no choice except just accept and adapt with all the rules and discipline. And since the student is only 42 and we meet from morning to motning, we, at least I can say, should be closer than students with hundreds student in a batch.

The assignment I would never forget and I guess my classmates did too is to interview one the head of region where we come from.  Like, for example I am from West Borneo, so I interview Mayor of the city or in bahasa we called in Walikota. For 15 years old students, I dont know, the confidence just came along with the letter from school. We have to get the photo and make a report of the interview.

A lot of extracurriculer here. More and more than previous.

I join OSIS - Excecutive Organization with General Treasurer. I also a treasurer again for school magazine and being secretary for budhist community in high school.

I am involved in a lot committee, one of them is became the project officer of school bazaar and once became the project officer again in school annual class-meeting competition. Here I learn the leaderships and teamwork.

I also curious in Java Traditional dance, me and the clubmates always perform in opening ceremony. The coach is just great and profesional. And for cheerleader, bring it on movies really inspire me and I met friends with the same interest, so we propose the extracurricular, and have full support from school. Coach from International Cheerleader Club, Spirit-full Kak Jacky. He teach us from zero skill and being third runner up at Bulungan Cup from SMAN 70 with Jabodetabek scale . I also selected to represent my school in pioneer marching (Baris Berbaris) competition by Bekasi Kabupaten, and glad being top ten. We didnt won, but the next year until now, my junior always brings my school being number one.

The Golf, tennis and swimming extracurricular is a must for first grade student, and who dont enjoys that? =)

A lot more to tell. But lastly, I finished my highschool, still in scholar grade, top ten students to maintain the scholarships. And, I glad to make my parents proud again, to get Bhagaskara Tanggon Kosala Medal, as the best student in mental and behavior for three year study.

I make a back up if anything happen again with my plan after failed to enter NTUby getting full scholarship from Universitas Pelita Harapan and President University. But, accepted in university of Indonesia really complete the closing of high school.

(Dont ask how hard we cried in the end ofprom night and graduation). We still meet even not that often because my friends spread everywhere like Malaysia, Holland, Singapore,Taiwan, Jakarta, etc :') but there is Ikatan Alumni SMA Presiden, and untill now I still trusted being a general treasurer there. Cant wait for the reuni at 2015. We will see how far we have changed.

playgroup, elementary and junior high school at Gembala Baik, Pontianak

Well, of course this moment is sweet, pure to most of people, so did I.

I spend my playgroup, elementary and junior high school at Gembala Baik School. It is one of the best schools in Pontianak. I really miss the school and the friends from there. It saved my childhood memories and part of my grown ups moment was there. I play a lot, cry a lot, also laugh a lot here.

I still remember the first time i get the prize to be the top student when playgroup. I don't really remember which number is, but the prize is a pencil case with a pencil like shaped. Still remember the proud face of my mom and I would like to see it again and again.

At elementary school, most I can remember is my friend and the friendships. Love to visits the birthday party, share the lunch box, write biodatas diary, etc. I constantly be the top three or top ten, but my best loop is when I am grade four. My uncle and father promised to bring me to Dufan at Jakarta and Jerodong Park at Brunei if I am number one in class. Like what you can guess, I made it and also number one in my batch. And finally, understand why being good at study brings benefit. At least, for me in that age, I don't have bother mom to buy new bag and books. Some brightening views and great simple motivation. I also glad when I can answer some question of my friends.Once I was sent as representative of school at social knowledge competition, I lost at semifinal. At last, at grade six, I am graduate from elementary with best score of NEM (National Final Examination) at school, also best report card. Daddy so glad that we dont have to pay for enrollment fees and tution fees for one semester. =)

Entering junior high school, i feel like so adult already. In fact I know that I am not, but at least my first funny love is here. ;)  Valentine presents, Hang out without parents for the first time, etc.Luckily, I am still straight being best student in the class at junior high school, and free from tution fees again for being the top three in batch. which is good for my pocket money.

Since junior high school, i found that I am enjoying extracurricular activities too. With some advice from family and friends that softskills is important beside report card. I am became the secretary of MPK, legislation organization here. Once I became the MC of my school Pensi for its 21st Birthday.  I joined, failed and won for some non academic competition, such as Nasi Tumpeng Decoration, my team and I was a runner up. I also being third champion for Alkitab Reading (nb. Gembala Baik is Chatolic school) and I still remember how glad I am when I become the runner up for speech competition. I also lost at some, for example at singing competition, but I still love karaoke till now, of course.

hmm, at ninth grade, with recommendation of my big family, I try President Senior High School test, and gladly I made it to have full scholarship there. The school give it to top ten from the participant. It is a hard choice since I also get scholarship at Gembala Baik High School because get the highest score of repost card  and perfect score for mathematic. (Can you imagine how glad also shy me, when my picture are in local post for it?) Lately, I found my name in the list of the best three from five hundreds in province try out. Once again, unexpectedly my name in local post of Pontianak.

Finally, I choose President, with the risk I have to maintain my marks and have to leave pontianak, friends and family. I don't really know, how I will face high school that time. With the goodbye pig shaped doll from my best friends (amelia, eriana, elnawati dan dessyta sari)  at the airport, I leave my hometown. There's a lot of untold memories there and still alive in my heart for sure.

little bite of me

Hallo reader, just call me floren okay.
There is a little fact bout me.

I was born in west borneo, Pontianak City. I am the eldest of three, have one younger sister at President University and youngest brother at twelve grade in Gembala Baik High School. I miss my parent so much, I've left home for study at President Senior High School in Cikarang since 2005 because I got full scholarship. I am continue my study at University of Indonesia now at industrial engineering major.

I think, God gives me a lot of luck and bless. So far, I am so happy with my life but I also understand that life is something we have to work out and we should not stop to fight. I just can say, let's enjoy the journey of life  and have a dream then do the action. I kinda raise to think, never afraid to try and fail.I often failed and that makes the victory sweets.

You might know some of your friends that loves to make themselves occupied with activities, well, honestly I am one of them. Some because I love the challenge, and some because just already getting used to it. But, don't think I am that workaholic, a bit, yeah, but I do love to have fun too. Thanks to my friends and family that always drag me to have fun. I enjoy the togetherness so much.

That's a bit of introduction, I'll post some activities I was doing and I am currently work out now.

Nb. I am learning to write in english. So, please understand if I make any grammatical mistakes yaa.
